Construction
BRAINERD THRIVENT BUILDS PROJECT UNDERWAY IN SE
BRAINERD!
BUILD NEEDS: Construction volunteers (no experience required); food
delivered to the work site for lunch; donations of bars/cookies and
bottled water
Lunch can be simple – i.e. sandwiches, sloppy Joes, hot-dish, etc. Power
is available on site to plug in roasters or crock pots. Please call me for
more information. If you would like to donate lunch, but cannot get it to
the site at lunch time, you can bring it to the LAHFH office and we will
see that it gets to the volunteers.

Build Schedule: Shifts run 8:30- noon and 1:00-4:30 Sign up for one or
both.
Friday, July 23: begin drywall installation in small areas. Up to 6
volunteers
July 26-27: Complete drywall installation The Mid MN Builders
Association is recruiting members to join the crews. Up to 20 volunteers
can be utilized all shifts. We still need additional volunteers!!!!
July 28-August 3: Drywall finishing (tape, mud, sand-out) Only
experienced volunteers needed
August 4-5: Brainerd Lakes Health leadership development committee
is recruiting volunteers to paint these two days
August 6: Begin trim and flooring installation (tile and laminate)
10-15 volunteers needed most shifts Varnishing provided by GEO’s Paint in
Crosby.
The following is a tentative schedule that may be
revised as needed:
August 9-13: Trim/ cabinet installation, interior doors, 5-8
volunteers
August 16-20: Complete shed, install gutters, other wrap ups, 5-8
volunteers needed
Other information:
• Schedule is subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen
circumstances. We will attempt to contact those volunteers who have signed
up when a shift change takes place.
• Volunteers will be guided by LAHFH construction manager, Larry
Johannessohn.
• Tools will be available at the site. You may bring your own tools.
Please have them marked and keep track of them.
• For safety reasons, power nailers are not allowed on the work site.
• Morning coffee and snacks will be provided during framing week. We will
try to have lunch at the site each day the first week. If you are signing
up for a full day, please check the lunch schedule and plan accordingly.
• Dress appropriately for the weather and work.
• There will be satellite toilets on site.
• Please bring drinking water to stay hydrated.
• Very important: Please log in and out in the log book on site and
complete a volunteer/waiver form if you do not have one on file. A site
host/hostess should be on site to guide you.
• If you cannot work on the build site, but want to be involved, contact
us about food prep/donation for work crews.

are always needed for ReStore operations- cashiering, sales floor,
organizing inventory and helping customers load/unload.

Walker, July 24, 2010- volunteers needed to work on this FUNdraising event. Includes
promotion, soliciting, food prep, set-up, registration, clean-up and more!

ON-LINE SAFETY TRAINING FOR VOLUNTEERS. The volunteer course
presents detailed information on a wide range of common safety risks found
on and around the jobsite. Help us keep the jobsite safe for everyone!
Simply go to
http://www.hfhvolunteerinsurance.com/. Everything you need to get
started is right there. (The volunteer website does not require a
password.) Certificates will be sent to LAHFH upon completion.
