Andrews-Miller Family

“Keep trying, don’t quit, don’t give up, keep fighting”

These are the words that Brian and Mandy live by and are teaching their children (ages 13, 9, 6 and 3).

Brian and Mandy met when they were in recovery.  They had a good life and things were going well at least for a while. However, they both got very busy and neglected their recovery which resulted in a relapse for them in 2009 through 2014. During this dark time of their life, Brian and Mandy figured no one cared because of the wrong choices they had made thought out their life, but they soon learned they were wrong in that assumption. Through support from family, friends and their church, they committed to a new life. Brian had been on medical disability for some time and recently accepted a full time position with Minnesota Teen Challenge. Mandy works as a mental health professional at Northern Pines and is very busy keeping up with their children’s busy lives.

When Brian was offered the full time position, they used the opportunity to teach their children that you can’t sit and wait for a check or to expect others to change your life, you need to do whatever you can to make your life better.

Managing their household is very difficult as their current rental home is in very poor shape with a hole in the roof and is too small for a family of six.

Their life journey has been challenging but because of the grace and love that has been invested in their family’s lives, they plan to carry on the legacy of giving and serving others.  They are so grateful for all the support and for helping make their dream of having a decent, safe and affordable home come true.
